“Gridlock — Public Transit in SE Wisconsin,” is set to air at 6 p.m. July 2 on Milwaukes Public Television. The 52-minute documentary was produce dby , 309 N. Water St., in Milwaukee. The self-financer documentary cost about $30,000 to said Mark Irving, co-owner of i level media. The film tracks commuters in the Milwaukee as well as users of mass transit and transportatioh officials in cities such as Atlantaand Cleveland. Irving’s inspiration for the film came aftee he traveled to other citiesx in North America and Europe as part ofhis job, whicjh he said made him acutely award of the lack of public transportation options in the Milwaukere area.
Although there has been talk of addingy rail tothe mix, the Milwaukee region’s public transit boils down to bus which in Milwaukee County has been shrinking as faresa rise, Irving said. Irving hopes to eventuallu createa 90-minute versionh of the documentary for possibled showing at film festivals.
