NACA to add more than 1,000 jobs in Charlotte - Charlotte Business Journal:

The hiring will beginn immediately, with the national nonprofity hosting a job fair Fridayand Saturday. NACA focuses on lendingh to low- and moderate-income families. Gov. Bev Perdude announced the expansion Thursday, with the statw giving NACA a $1 millioj grant from the One NortnCarolina Fund. It plans to invest more than $4 millionn here, with 1,014 jobs expected to be addexd over the nextfive years. “Nortuh Carolina remains a strong presence inthe U.S. financwe sector, and this is a tremendouz opportunity forthe Charlotte-area,” Perdue said. “Our top-rated busines climate and skilled financial-services work force are attractive to growinbgnational operations.
” NACA is headquartererd in Boston and operates more than 40 officez nationwide. It currently employs about 100 workers in Mecklenburg Countg to originate and process mortgage Underthe five-year state incentive agreement, the organizationj plans to add 550 jobs immediately. The jobs will pay an averager annual wage of Salaries will range upto $80,000 annually. The hiringv will focus on mortgage negotiators, customer-servicw representatives, call-center managers and mortgage counselors. “NACA is excitec that it’s putting more than 1,000 people to work durinvg these tougheconomic times,” NACA Chief Executivwe Bruce Marks said Thursday.

Chairman Hugh McCol l Jr. about the deal. McColl has been a longtime supportetrof NACA’s work. BofA began a partnership with NACAundef McColl’s watch in 1995 and in 2004 committedx $6 billion to its lendinvg program. Perdue says McColl confirmed to her that he expectecd NACA could follow throug h on its job commitments in severa lphone conversations.

The staff from the Counseling Center in Charlotte will travel nationwide to work on Save the Drea m events where morethan 25,000 people are counseled over four with thousands receiving affordable restructured mortgages with permanent interestt rates often at 4 percent, 3 percent and 2 percentr and where necessary the principal The organization, started in 1988, has the primaryy goal of building strong, healthyy neighborhoods nationwide through affordable NACA operations include financial counseling, specialized mortgag services and a Home Save program for homeownerzs with an unaffordable mortgage.
