California settles with Kmart, sues Target - Atlanta Business Chronicle:

The state’s attorney Jerry Brown, joined by district attorneys from manyCalifornia counties, including Alameda, Santa Clara and Contra Costa, filed a suit against Minneapolis-based Targett (NYSE: TGT), saying it sent hazardoue waste to various landfilla in violation of state law. The suit is meanr to stop the practices. In news Target said it has been cooperatinv withthe AG’s office for three years on this matterf and that it is committed to complying with all environmental laws. Kmart, owned by (NASDAQ: SHLD), agreedx to a settlement that includes civil legal costs and some money to boosyt protection of the environment inthe state.
Thomas Orloff, Roberr Kochly, James Fox and Dolores the DAsof Alameda, Contra San Mateo and Santa Clara countiex respectively, joined Brown in the suit againsft Target. According to court Target has180 facilities, including stores and in California.
